New Delhi, 30 November (NNS): The import prices of poppy seeds have been ruling at the higher level from the other countries along with China and Turkey. On the other hand, the arrival of the adulterated stock seems weak in the markets, due to which, the import reported to be weak this month due to the higher prices in the international markets after the decrement during the previous days. In contrary to this, there is a shortage of imported poppy seeds because of increased demand during the ongoing wedding season. Apart from this, old desi stock reported to be consume, on seeing these circumstances, it is expected that the prices may gain by Rs 50 per kg and its prices went up by Rs 100/150 per kg during the last fortnight. Recently, poppy seeds prices gained by Rs 100 to Rs 1200/1250 per kg.
