The prices of turmeric erode gatha asitis held firm at Rs 17800 per quintal due to the sluggish offtake even after the feeble prices. Recently, the prices have gone down by Rs 300 per quintal. There were around 4400 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices held stable at the same level of the previous day. The active contract dropped down by Rs 910 or 5 percent to Rs 17286 per quintal due to the all-round speculative buying. There is no possibility of more downtrend in the prices during the coming days.
