New Delhi, 17 July (NNS): Here, the prices of turmeric jumped by Rs 400s to Rs 16500 per quintal owing to the increased offtake even after the higher prices. During the previous day, the prices have gone up by in the same ratio. There were around 1000 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices remained stable at the same level during the previous day. The active contract prices went up by Rs 278 or 1.79 percent to Rs 15768 per quintal because of the strong speculative buying. The spot turmeric prices will likely to remain strong during the coming days.
