New Delhi, 31 July (NNS): Here, the prices of turmeric jumped by Rs 300 to Rs 16600 per quintal owing to the improved trend at the feeble prices. During the previous day, the prices have gone down by Rs 100/200 per quintal. There were around 1800 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices remained stable at the same level during the previous day. The active contract prices jumped by Rs 440 or 2.83 percent to Rs 15970 per quintal because of the strong speculative buying. There is no possibility of long uptrend in the spot turmeric prices during the coming days.
