New Delhi, 13 August (NNS): There is a shortage of stored stock of turmeric in the contract market. On the other hand, the sowing of turmeric reported to be high before some days, but it may decrease again. The farmers of South India have sown huge amount of banana and maize rather than turmeric, due to this reason, the traders are not selling the stock of turmeric at the lower level and the contract prices of higher level have been started purchasing, due to this reason, the market improved by Rs ½ per kg and it may gain by Rs 5/7 per kg.
