New Delhi, 17 December (NNS): There were around 9000/10000 bags of cumin reported to arrive in Unjha mandi of Gujarat and the prices reported to be at the previous level. The prices of cumin rose by Rs 200 to Rs 22200 per quintal owing to the higher buying even after the uptrend in the prices. Recently, the prices have gone down by Rs 100 per quintal. The active contract prices slipped by Rs 5 or 0.02 percent to Rs 20960 per quintal because of sluggish selling from the speculators. The market sentiments may affect because of the sowing of new crop. The spot cumin prices will likely to remain sluggish during the near future.
