New Delhi, 18 August (NNS): During the previous week, here, the prices of turmeric erode gatha asitis softened by Rs 100 to Rs 13000 per quintal owing to the sluggish buying from the stockists even after the feeble prices. Recently, the prices have gone down by Rs 200/300 per quintal. There were around 1700 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in erode and the prices held stable at the same level of the previous day. The active contract prices descended by 2.24 percent or Rs 284 to Rs 12390 per quintal due to the higher speculative buying. The spot turmeric prices will likely to remain high during the near future.
