New Delhi, 11 May (NNS): The market of turmeric showed soft trend after the uptrend in the prices of turmeric. The prices of turmeric fluctuates by Rs 100/200 per quintal due to the weak demand at the previous week. Today, the prices of erode gatha asitis rose by Rs 100 to Rs 15000/15100 per quintal. This year, the crop of turmeric gets affected due to the constant rainfall in Maharashtra, Telangana and Tamil Nadu, due to this, the production reported to be weak by 20/25 percent as compared to the previous year. The arrivals of new crop reported to be weak and there is also a lack of superior quality stock in the markets. The arrivals seems weak in the famous markets like Sangi and Nizamabad and the prices will likely to remain fluctuate amid speculation in the markets and the prices may likely to increase after some time in the coming days.
