New Delhi, 15 June (NNS): The prices of black pepper remained stable at the same level. Recently, the prices have gone down by Rs 10 per kg. The prices of black pepper markara remained firm at Rs760/770 per kg. Its prices showed soft trend because of the weak export demand and constant supply pressure in the international markets. Apart from this, the prices have remained under pressure owing to the profit taking selling at the higher level after the holding of the stock by the farmers and higher availability of the imported stock. The prices have not showed uptrend due to the weak procurement of the previous stock and higher arrivals in Karnataka and Kerela. The demand reported to be weak in the markets and the companies are not taking interest towards the black pepper and the arrivals also seems high in the producing areas. The local big purchasers are taking interest in purchasing the stock in the domestic markets, due to this reason, the prices have remained under pressure. There is no possibility of uptrend in the prices during the near future.
