New Delhi, 31 August (NNS): Black pepper prices have recently witnessed a rise. The prices of black pepper Malabar increased by Rs 10 to Rs 755/765 per kg. Farmers currently expect prices to move higher in the coming period and are therefore bringing limited quantities of both old and new stocks to the mandis. This has reduced spot-market arrivals. At current price levels, many farmers and local traders are preferring to hold their produce rather than sell at lower prices. Spot black pepper prices are therefore expected to remain firm and may rise further in the coming days.
