New Delhi, 17 July (NNS): During the previous week, the prices of turmeric Erode gatha asitis jumped by Rs.2200 to Rs.12,700 per quintal because of the increased buying and lack of selling from the stockists at the higher level. During the previous week, the prices have jumped by Rs.1600 per quintal. There are about 3000 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices ascended by Rs.1100/1200 per quintal. The active contract went up by Rs.276 or 2.33 percent to Rs.12118 due to the strong speculative buying. There is no fear of profit taking selling in the spot turmeric prices during the coming days.
