New Delhi, 11 August (NNS): The prices of turmeric Erode gatha asitis went up by Rs.200 to Rs.16,300 per quintal because of the increased offtake at the lower level. Along with this, its prices slipped by Rs.300/400 per quintal. There are about 10,000 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices held stable at the level of the previous day. The active contract gained by Rs.98 or 0.65 percent to Rs.15,260 per quintal owing to the increased speculative buying. It is expected that the prices may increase gradually during the coming days.
