New Delhi, 15 September (NNS): Here, the prices of turmeric Erode gatha asitis jumped by Rs 500 to Rs 15100 per quintal owing to the increased offtake even after the higher prices. During the previous day, the prices have gone up by Rs 500/600 per quintal. There were about 2900 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices went up by Rs 200/300 per quintal. The active contract jumped by Rs 832 or 5.61 percent to Rs 15662 per quintal owing to the increased speculative buying. The spot turmeric prices may likely to remain strong during the coming days.
