New Delhi, 12 January (NNS): Here, the prices of turmeric erode gatha asitis held firm at Rs 12300 per quintal owing to the sluggish offtake even after the weak prices. Recently, the prices have gone down by Rs 100 per quintal. There were around 5700 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices declined by Rs 200 per quintal. The active contract went down by Rs 224 or 1.72 percent to Rs 12832 per quintal owing to the increased speculative selling. There is no possibility of downtrend in the spot turmeric prices during the coming days.
