New Delhi, 02 February (NNS): The prices of turmeric Erode gatha asitis jumped by Rs 500 to Rs 13600 per quintal owing to the sluggish offtake even after the weak prices. Before this, the prices have gone down by Rs 200 per quintal. There were around 3500 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices held stable at the level of the previous day. The active contract went down by Rs 235 or 1.61 percent to Rs 14802 per quintal because of the increased speculative selling. The spot turmeric prices will likely to remain strong during the coming one or two days.
