New Delhi, 01 May (NNS): Here, the prices of turmeric erode gatha asitis held stable at Rs 17100 per quintal owing to the sluggish offtake at the higher prices. Recently, the prices have gone up by Rs 100/200 per quintal. The Erode market was remained close on the occasion of labour day. Before this, there were around 2300 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in Erode and the prices remained stable at the same level of the previous day. The active contract gained by Rs 238 or 1.25 percent to Rs 19220 per quintal owing to the increased speculative buying, due to this, the market sentiments may affect. There is no fear of downtrend in the spot turmeric prices during the near future.
