New Delhi, 31 May (NNS): The import prices of poppy seeds reported to be high in the some countries along with China and Turkey. On the other hand, less amount of adulterated stock has been started unloading, due to which, the import seems feeble during the current week due to the higher prices in the international markets after the decrement during the previous days. On the other hand, there is a shortage of imported poppy seeds because of the increased demand. The old desi stock has already been consumed, on seeing these circumstances, the market may gain by Rs 50 per kg and recently, the prices of poppy seeds fell down by Rs 100 to Rs 1150/1200 per kg, but the market showed sluggish trend because of the weak demand and profit taking selling.
