Turmeric: not likely to increase

New Delhi, 01 September (NNS): During the previous week, here, the prices of turmeric erode gatha asitis declined by Rs 200 to Rs 13100 per quintal owing to the weak buying from the stockists even after the feeble prices. Recently, the prices have gone down in the same ratio. There were around 1500/1600 bags of turmeric reported to arrive in erode and the prices held stable at the same level of the previous day. The active contract prices declined by 1.82 percent or Rs 242 to Rs 13040 per quintal due to the weak speculative buying. The spot turmeric prices may likely to remain high during the near future.
