New Delhi, 23 April (NNS): Recently, the prices of small cardamom showed uptrend due to the weak production amid unfavourable weather conditions. There, the production of small cardamom gets affected due to the weather. Recently, the prices have gone up by Rs 50 per kg, due to this reason, small cardamom 7.5 mm remained at Rs 2750/2850 per kg. The crop of small cardamom gets affected due to the unseasonal rainfall in the producing areas like Kerala and Tamil Nadu. This year, the production of small cardamom expected to decrease by 20% as compared to the previous year. After India, Guatemala is the biggest producer country of small cardamom in the world. There also, the production reported to be weak. It’s arrivals also seems week at the auction centres. The remaining stock of the previous year also reported to be feeble, due to this reason, the supply of the stock seems tight in the markets.
