New Delhi, 15 June (NNS): The prices of cumin showed soft trend after the uptrend in the prices. Here, the average quality cumin jumped by Rs 200 to Rs 21400/21700 per quintal. This year, the production reported to be bumper in the famous producing areas like Gujarat and Rajasthan and the arrivals of new crop also seems high, due to this, the supply gets affected. The export demand of Indian cumin showed downfall as the purchasers have purchased less amount of stock from China and Bangladesh. The farmers are constantly selling out their stock to ready the kharif crop due to the constant selling pressure from the farmers, due to this, the selling pressure seems continuous in the spot market. This year, the masala companies are active after the increment in the prices during the previous days, due to this, the domestic demand seems sluggish. There is no possibility of increment in the prices during the coming days.
