New Delhi, 03 July (NNS): The offtake of turmeric reported to be sluggish even after the uptrend in the prices during the previous days. As a result, the prices of turmeric Erode gatha asitis held firm at Rs 16000 per quintal. Recently, the prices have gone down by Rs 200 per quintal. There were around 8000 bags of turmeric reported to arrive and the prices slipped  by Rs 100 per quintal. The active contract prices softened by Rs 66 or 0.38 percent to Rs 17486 per quintal because of the weak speculative buying, due to this, the market sentiments may affect. There is no possibility of long uptrend in the prices during the coming days.
