New Delhi, 28 October (NNS): The poppy seed market is currently witnessing downfall, due to this, the prices fell down by Rs 50 per quintal. However, Turkish poppy seed prices remain stable at their previous levels of Rs 1300/1400 per kg. The arrivals of the new crop in March and April have increased supplies in the mandis which increases the pressure on the prices. The substantial availability of new crop produce and imported material has further increased supplies. Despite this, both the big traders and stockists have sharply curtailed selling at lower levels following the recent marginal decline. Therefore, the market is unlikely to witness a bearish trend in the coming days.
